Braided Stainless lines

Postby Dan on Wed May 12, 2010 8:31 pm

I found an outlet for custom made lines here local. Most places that make lines won't make DOT approved brake lines. Why wait to have them shipped in...............not to mention......buy local.
Here's the place:

Magill's Quality Radiator
3320 N. 1st Ave
690-0903

DOT approved lines 3,000psi
Colors/ over 500 fittings in stock
Most instances, same day service or while you wait if it permits.
Just take your old lines to match and get your check book out.
Cheers....................

Did they give you any indication as to price? I need to get a rear line replaced, so they might be a good choice.

one of my coworkers just had an AC line made there & got the flyer. they were telling him its roughly $50 per line depending on what you want done & fittings it requires.

I would recommend stopping by for prices for what you need.

My stupid ass Buell has two oil lines, from the motor to my air cooler and back to the motor. Considering how Buell prides itself on radical engineering prinicples that increase efficiency, the placement of these lines is fucking retarded. They are steel braided, and sit right next to eachother. Add the rattle of a Harley motor, and you've got some serious abrasive action going on. The steel braids actually ripped eachother apart, and then the sharp parts cut right into the rubber underneath giving me a nasty oil leak. Lets add to the fun the fact that with Buell shut down, there are no lines to be found.

I dropped the damaged lines off one afternoon, and they were ready to be picked up the next morning. It cost about $20 less than new ones from the factory ($110 for both lines, Magill's charged $90 to fix em). I also talked the guy and explained the problem. He found me some super dense rubber hose that fits over the steel braids, and will hopefully prevent further issues. I really liked the proactive service. They can do all sorts of lines - brakes, radiators, oil, A/C...
