Servicing a fork

My forck need to be serviced i.e. oil change.

I checked the service manual and it doesn't sound complicated except the fork spring compressor. Do you know if it is possible to do without or will the pring jump out like a devil?

I talked with Phil from ESP and definitely yes, I need a spring compressor to service the fork, even to just change the oil.

There is the one from Traxxion Dynamics that several members of the ZX-10R.net forum have successfully used:
http://www.google.com/products?q=Traxxi ... hl=en&aq=f

Since I want to play around with the fork (mostly the oil viscosity), I would like to be able to do it myself. It doesn't sound out of my skill, but several riders predicted me the worst if I dare opening the Pandora box. Scary!

Question is: is there anybody here that has such a compressor, has used it successfully, is willing to lend it/help me with for my first time?
I got beers in the fridge.

Vince and I have changed fork seals and oil before without a spring compressor...but it takes two ppl and some caution to do it that way!

We took the forks completely off of the bike to do it this way, so a front stand is necessary.
Ben

P.S. Vince has another set of forks that need service, so you may want to hit him up for having him show you how to do it and you could have a 'fork date'. *snicker*
