Battery?

Postby CBRRRGIRL on Fri Jun 11, 2010 11:14 am

So it seems like everything with a battery is taking a shit this week.. Jeep... Street Bike... Thankfully my dirt-bikes cant do that! lol But in all seriousness... I have NO idea what kinda of battery to get for my bike..... So I'm thinking since I wanna do some electrical upgrading anyhow that I would just get a better battery now... My question is, is what kind should I get? (bikes an 06'CBR600RR). I eventually want to upgrade to HID lights and put a radar on it and possibly some other junk too. lol thanks guys!

Interstate makes good batteries for bikes. Go to their warehouse on Grant Road (its right by On Any Moto) and ask for Darwin. Don't tell him I sent you though...you may wind up paying double if you do :joker:
There are no speed limits on the road to excellence.

Yes...we remember and your graphic is called the Caster. Give us a day notice before coming down so we can get the battery charged fully overnight for you.
Thanks!

You mean the 8500 X50 right? The 8500's are nice too! But when you are getting up in that price range, might as well step up to the 9500 series and get some well designed feature that rock ..

  • Variable speed sensitivity. the faster you go, the more sensitive. The slower you go the more false alerts filtered out. Parking lots etc ..
  • GPS Filter! (Also acts as a Speedo to show GPS speed at all times.
  • Ability to mark locations, red light cameras, photo speed cameras ...
  • Voice alerts.

I run my 9500i in full-on highway mode, the most sensitive setting. you may think that would suck in inner city travels, but the mark feature of the GPS means with one button I can mark (ignore) radar from Walgreen doors etc ... This way I have the most sensitivity in the city and can pickup those pesky motor LEO's a good ways off while they try to instant-on cars ahead of me. The good thing about the filtered locations are that if a LEO sits in front of the Walgreen's that you have marked, the detector knows the difference between the LEO and the door, and will still alert you.

It's all about the price you want to pay for the features. For me, 400.00 bucks after a $4,500.00 speeding ticket was well worth it. Only wish is I would have had the Escort BEFORE the fatal trip. :(

Sad thing is the ticket was only 640-ish bucks. Add to that a lawyer fee, towing, impound, bond/bail and slowly one twist of the wrist adds up pretty good.

Hey CBRRRGIRL,

Don't forget that after you get the battery installed, have someone check your charging system. Better to do it after the bike has been ridden for a while, as this heats up the bike and it's components. Excess heat will degrade the charging system.
Cheap, Fast, Reliable. You can only have two, NEVER all three!
